July 4th we spent the day on Lake Charlevoix. We are very happy with how our 215 handled the waves vs our old Crownline 182. We went back out on Sat also, but ended up getting rained out. That was ok since we planned to head home late that afternoon anyway.
We finally made it up to Lake Charlevoix for the Boyne Thunder Poker Run this year!!! We didn’t participate, but just watching all the incredible boats was a blast. I think I was grinning wider than our 215 all day long!!!
We punched in Boyne City early and made the ~13-14 mile trip across the lake to Round Lake and anchored near shore to watch all the awesome boats go by.
We then made our way into Lake Michigan and sat in a few different spots watching the boats run from one stop to another.
Spent over 10.5 hrs on the lake, and it barely seemed like 6 hrs!!! That does include ~1-1.5hrs that we docked and had some dinner.
We spent most of last week camping up at S Higgins Lk with an awesome group of friends. It was an absolute blast with great weather!!! Took one of our boys and friends daughter tubing for a little bit, and a little cruising and hanging at the sandbar. The [HASH=652]#FloatNGrill[/HASH] was a huge hit as well. Even had other Boaters coming over and checking it out. Cooked about 60 dogs up.
Not sure when our next big trip will be. But any day on the lake is a great day!!!
