Three years ago I purchased a Scarab 165G. I've enjoyed it but it is a bit small. I knew that going in and it was a fun boat but it was time for something bigger. I wanted to move up to a 19ft model - didn't really want to go bigger than that due to storage in garage plus difficulty trailering/launching, etc. I've also really wanted a yamaha - I have a 1998 Waverunner and the thing just runs and runs. Never put a dime into it other than batteries and spark plugs.

So yesterday I pulled the trigger on the 195S. I looked at the Scarab 195 as well - I definitely like the look of that boat but it is more expensive and ultimately has less room. The Yamaha 195S is really quite a deal for the money plus Yamaha definitely has a better reliability record. I also got the wake booster and I am really hoping that proves to be worth it. It will be May before I get out on it and probably June before anyone wants to surf...but I'll let you all know how that works out.

Excited to join the Yamaha Jet Boat family!

Congrats, love our 19 footer, hope you have a bunch of awesome experiences

Congratulations! I'm curious, did your WakeBooster package come with the Slingshot board?

Congrats on the purchase. The 195s is a nice boat. I'm also excited to get the boat out with the new booster to see what it can do. Been working on a handful of other upgrades to get ready for spring.

The 19ft booster package does not come with a board as part of the kit.

I'll save you the sales pitch, but if any of you are still after a board I sell the same Coaster boards (minus the Yamaha branding) and many others. A few 2019 boards left on clearance. Shoot me a DM if you want more info.

Congrats man. I can't say enough good things about the Yamaha 19'ers and they really hit it out of the park with that new redesign. I moved up to a larger inboard and there are a lot of days where I miss the simplicity and maneuverability of my old 192. If I ever get my inboard paid off, I'll probably buy another Yamaha 19' to have for tooling around (assuming the wife won't kick me out for it).

Congratulations!!! I cam from a Scarab 165 ID to a 2019 AR195. Definitely a much better built boat. Plenty of room and still fits in the garage. The only thing I miss is how you can spin the boat sitting still on the Scarab. On Yamaha, you have to be moving. Other than that, I don't miss the Scarab and wouldn't go back.

Congrats on the 195, it's great boat! Let the mods begin!

ACK...in Rochester it'll be August before the water temp rises enough to dunk a toe! Up here in Canada, we don't own bathing suits!
:coldfeet:

Congrats. I own the same boat. Love it. Can't wait to see what you do to it. I have a build thread around here for what I've done so far if you need ideas.

Let us know for sure about that wake booster package. I'm interested to see how the attachment works.

Congrats Mike. Just pulled the trigger on a new 195S today in south Texas. Hope to take delivery in a couple of weeks.
Congrats on your new boat! Waiting for delivery is the worst part of the whole process....

It did not. The dealer told me that he has the option to order with or without the board. He orders without because so many people already have boards that they want to use.

I've been watching your build thread - nice stuff. My only immediate plan is probably tower speakers and maybe some LED lighting in the cockpit. But who knows! I'm also going to get some trailer dollies so it is easy for me to push the boat against the wall in may garage.

Yes, the scarab neutral maneuvering was really nice. Helped a lot with docking as well.

Congrats on the new boat! Post some pics!

Don't have it yet but I will post pics once I do.
