The nurse shark was so close I was able to touch it. Crazy!

We are planning to go in April. Can’t wait!

Thought is to hit Alligator Reef one day Sand Bar another, then just explore. Will make the run the Key West one day by car, but otherwise going to enjoy the boating.

Any recommendations?

All doable in same day as it depends where home base is.

Definitely drive to key west.

Where is base camp?

Wife booked a little hotel on the water where we can pull the boat up in Key Largo. Her and I were just down in Key West back in October. Decided to bring the kids for spring break with the boat.

You'll need gas for those long runs. Just be prepared no premium(not a big deal)

The day I went ocean side to AF from Key largo it was a calm day. I would go bay side until inlet( start of power lines running parallel to US 1) is how I remember where I am.
Take less of a beating as each reef is miles from channel or miles apart ocean side. I would go to longest site of interest first then head north at your pace.

There is a shallow nice sand bottom North of that spot of the power lines if you head South to toilet bowl channel.
Its hard to miss as all the boats are anchored off hotel.

If you keep going South to 7mile bridge go to Burdines for lunch and gas
