Anyone know anything about this lake? Or have you ever been there? I keep getting mail about waterfront lots and it seems very well priced.

Can anyone give me some insight into this lake?

I love this lake. We try and go there annually in the summer. I would be interested in property there. Is there a web address for the lots? I know they keep building new waterfront subdivisions on the lake, but I have never seen any pricing that was remotely inexpensive. I would love to find a deal at Keowee.

If I'm not mistaken someone on this board lives on Lake Keowee. Maybe ot would shpw up on the members map?

My avatar photo is from Keowee. Awesome, clean, deep lake. The level fluctuates fairly drastically due t0 pumping water back up into the lake just north, don't remember the name. Therefore the docks are all floating....but don't worry, 15 feet out from you dock and the water will be 40+ feet deep. Just don't make the mistake of grounding the nose of your boat or you could wake up in the AM to your boat on dry land and it could be weeks before they bring the level back up high enough to get out.

Seriously though, one of the best lakes I've been too.

Lake Jocassee is the other lake on the other side of the dam.

We spend nearly all our lake time on Keowee. Sometimes we go to Jocasse for a change. Keowee is more developed and starting to grow again. "The Cliffs" is a high end retirement-targeted golf/lake development with multimillion $ homes that stalled out with the 08 crash. I suspect the lake will get busier over the next 10 years. A new dock just popped up in one of our favorite vacant coves.

Jocasse to the north is mostly Duke energy land with very few houses. It does not have the beaches like Keowee but is very deep (cool) with lots of waterfalls. Jocasee can fluctuate a lot. It was down 25' three years ago. Keowee has a nuke plant so water levels stay fairly constant.

@Seadeals, you are lucky! Keowee is truly a beautiful lake. My sister owned a house in The Cliffs. Her husband was the COO for all Cliffs properties for quite some time. They now own Terminus - a wake board park in Atlanta. They still live in Greenville though. Nice town. My parents like it so much they moved from Northern VA to retire down there.

Cool! I'm in Atlanta now on business. I'll have to look them up.
