LEDs for Bimini Top SX Model Boat

Has anyone added LEDs to their traditional bimini top (i.e. for an SX model)? I'd love to add some lights up there, but am having trouble envisioning how to run the wires and placement options for the lights.

Get a perko deck connection plug and run the wires thru the Bimini tube.

OK, so I went super cheap for a first test of both the lights and my skills of installing them.

These lights are cheap, not waterproof, battery powered lights. I basically sowed the lights to the sown edges of the bimini top with mono-filament fishing line. I really must say I like the look and the outcome. I'll use these as long as they last and will look for a better quality set of lights for the long term.
