So I'm thinking about getting into the world of jet boats. Bought a Waverunner last year and I think I want more... I'm primarily looking at Glastrons (already posted in the Glastron subforum). What I learned so far is that 19' won't really cut it (which is what I originally wanted) so I'm looking at 21' models.
I just prefer the Glastron design (GT 207), over Yamaha, and also they cost a bit less. (But I'm not ruling out Yamaha entirely, I think I could live with a SX210.)

The problem I would be facing is that I don't have enough space around my house to store a boat. I live in Nassau County, Long Island NY.

What I'm looking for is a large backyard or a lot to park the trailer+boat. Then on weekends, I would just hitch it up and pull it to the boat ramp. Doesn't have to be on the shore, just close enough. Either on the south shore (Freeport, Point Lookout area), or on the north shore (Glen Cove, Port Washington, etc.)

Is this the most cost efficient way to go about this? Of course I could go directly to a marina but those are pretty expensive around here, especially for the casual boating I'm looking to do...

Looking for advice...

@soundshark I am in Nassau county also. I have seen many people store boats and RV's at the Public Storage yards or other similar places. I know how many of the house around us do not have large side yards. I will need to pull the gates off my side gate to get the bigger boat in the back.

Also, before I expanded our driveway, I left the boat in the drive way and parked the cars in the street. The boat was in back during the off season.

Living in a city I've dealt with these issues as well. When looking into storage options I required a few things:

- secure/ safe area
- eletricity (for my onboard battery charger/ maintainer)
- water for flushing/ cleaning
- 24/7 access since I do a lot of night boating

That left out a lot of storage options for me. I looked into storage facilities but couldn't find one that provided everything I needed. I eventually found a marina that had trailered boat parking and settled for that. It cost me $700 for the season and in the off season I park my boat at my parents house in NJ. This season I'm going to wet slip the boat.
