@PEARCE pointed out that my bilge pump was working frequently at Lake Murray. Thanks @PEARCE.

After we got home I filled the bilge with water then pulled up a hill to see where the water came out. It came out around the transducer cable fitting.

This is what it looks like.

Large amounts of life caulk were applied to the fitting and the inside when it was installed.

I either need to seal it from the outside or open up the bilge and seal up the inside. I am considering applying a coating of life caulk to the outside.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Are you ever wanting to remove it again? If not, 3M 5200 should do the trick.

I used 3m 4200 and that worked for me. 5200 is even stronger.

I used 4200 on mine. Cam.

I'd just seal it from the outside @Bruce . That's what I ended up doing with my scupper valve and I don't get a drop now.

Pull it apart and redo with life caulk. Be sure to clean as much old caulk off as possible. Sand the gloss off of the cable while you are there.

Be sure you get the caulk in and around the entire circumference of the cable.

Was it dripping out around the cable or between the hull and thruhull fitting?

I could not find any way to seal it from below so I popped the bilge cover and sealed it all the way around from inside the bilge with Life Caulk.

Fortunately last time I had the bilge cover off I sealed it with some loctite 2 year silicone that was left over from a home improvement project. I was able to pull the bilge cover off by hand after removing the screws. Previously when I sealed the cover with life caulk I had to use chisels to pry it up. So I sealed it with loctite again.

I believe the loctite prevents water intrusion without unnecessary adhesion. I would not use it near or below the water line but I feel it is fine for the bilge cover.
