Hey. I have a 2016 Yamaha fsh sport. I took it out for the first time this year and it wouldn't go over 6,000 rpm's. It usefully maxes around 7,500 rpm's. I changed the spark plugs and added fresh fuel but it didn't help. Any ideas

Did you change the plugs before or after it would only go to 6000? Have you visually inspected the intake grate, tunnel and impeller for any anomalies? Where does the oil level read when in the water idle with engine running?

Is the hull dirty? Needs an acid bath?

Check or remove your air filter. It may have oil or dirt contamination. Also check to make sure your impeller is not contacting the wear ring.

My first trip out this year I had low rpm's then I changed the plugs and there was no change. I checked the air filter and it was fine. The oil seems to be a little bit high when sitting on the trailer but I haven't checked on the water.
