First off - HUGE thanks to numerous people for all the responses to our queries -
1. 190 vs 210
2. Cobra Jet vs Thrusters
3. Rod holders
4. Cup holders
and other things we picked up from your responses to others’ questions.
Cleveland area finally warmed up so we wanted to share pictures of our maiden voyage and a few specifics from what we learnt.
1. Obviously we went with the 190 - best decision for us. Fits snugly in our 21 foot garage without worrying about hitting walls.
2. We installed the Cobra (thanks Jeff!). Super easy install. Please watch Jeff’s video on YouTube over the printed instructions.
3. Rod Holders - We went with the AMarine. Please see picture where we cut up an old bicycle tire to make rubber gaskets to avoid scratches. Please apply thread lock/Loctite on the inside set screw.
4. We installed the Mate series combo rod-cup holders. Super easy switch out. Bought 1/2” tubing from HD and ran it right to the bilge drain plug. Shine a flashlight from the outside while looking into the door next to the clean out port.
Coming from a 2005 Seadoo Sporster, still trying to get a handle on this particularly the “Neutral” and slow reverse. The cobra is helping I think. The engine is now broken in - Sunday will be full operation - more to come!! I am sure we will be back with more questions...till then, Happy Boating!!!
