A buddy of mine where I work is always working on something, Where they boat they are basically in inches of water and horsepower is king. So he has a 16 ft Sea Rayder that had one of the mercury sport jet pumps,I forget which one, and he ran that unitl he put a hole in the bottom of the boat. Well here are some pics of what became of the boat. @Speedling should enjoy this.

He basically skinned the entire bottom of the boat that would contact rocks with aluminum sheet. He then ripped out all of the old motor stuff and put in a VERY built 350 and a rebuilt his whole transom. This thing has adjustable trim and will jump out of the water from a stand still. GPS 70+ mph.

Crazy !!! that's like the mini tunnel hull speed boats with 150's on the back.

Yeah, I bet this motor is making 475-500 crank horsepower. My buddy said at speed it is real sketchy! So naturally he wants to put nitrous on it...

Sweet!

Did he tell his life insurance company?

Yeah nitrous sounds like a REAL good idea! Not!!o_O:nailbiting:

If he was making 500 hp he should be over 80 mph with that boat. Unless the pump needs some tweaking to match.
Either way i am gonna go measure something really quick......

That is my dream boat. Got me thinking ....

That's a lot of power in that boat.

How does it trailer? It looks like it's so close to the ground that the nozzle would scrape going in and out of driveways.

PS. Id love to have something like that, but My wife would probably make me put an extension on the swim platform to clear the jet ;)

Fyi about 22 inches is max depth in my ss unless i started hackin. Then i could maybe get 27 out of it. 48" wide though!
