Your friend is an opportunist, Sad your relationship was fractured. I had a co-worker who played middleman with me and a seller. Didn’t take me long to figure it out. He was trying to fill his pocket on the deal by keeping both me and the seller in the dark. The deal went south and subsequently I purchased a new boat and did not entertain any friendship after that. Your friend underestimated you plain and simple. Wish I could buy that boat. I still have negative equity on mine which I’ll just enjoy longer rather than come up with 12k before deposit on future boat.
P.S. I just read your update, just don’t mix business with friendship, I like when things work out!
