Are the newer Yamaha 4 cylinder engines in jet boats and wave runners have nikasil cylinders compared to iron sleeves. Thanks in advance.

As far as i have seen yamaha has been using Nikasil bores for a long time. Including the 1.8liter. I would think the new 3 cylinder has the same.
Its a smoother surface than anything else out there.
Why the concern?

Don't see a reason to fog for winter storage if nikasil, it will not rust.

I would think the valves would be a bigger concern.

Fogging also coats rings, valves etc...
I have seen Nikasil coating worn off from lack of lube

It's all about the lube....
