Norovirus is running wild around here this year. As of 1130 last night till 5 am this morning I have firmly paid my dues.. I also have two of my three kids who have had it..
Sorry man. It hit our house too last week. This year has sucked so far for us. My two year old son, my wife, and I have all had the flu, then my son caught the stomach virus, and passed it on to me. After all that he came down with pink eye the other day. The joys of having a child in daycare. They bring home every germ and piece of bacteria known to man.
I am so glad we are empty nesters, having raised 3 kids we were always getting sick with the crud they brought home from daycare/school. With just the two of us we maybe get sick once a year at best. Now that our kids have their own kids they are experiencing the joys of their kids bringing home the crud.
Since the holidays we haven't had all 4 kids make a full week of school. I've worked from home a couple of days and even had to spell my stay-at-home-Mom wife by picking the kids up after school when she got sick.
I THINK we're through it though.... Knock on Wood.
The comments here remind me of the time I was talking to a buddy of mine and he was bragging about how he and his wife had taken the "Get Healthy" approach to life early that year. They were eating right and exercising. He said "...and you know what? We haven't had so much as a head-cold all year!"
I smiled at him and said "Uh, Mark.... Didn't your youngest kid move out of the house last year?"
The dawning look of realization that all his exercise and healthy eating had nothing to do with not getting sick was absolutely priceless. He left muttering something about "...a large meat-lover's..."
