Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. [USERGROUP=9]@HELP[/USERGROUP] perfect pass screen is flickering..with no data visible...any ideas?? I've tried to reset and turned off the battery and on again.
I had a problem with the display going old school TV and showing the bottom half on top and it occasionally rolling with static,
PP told me it was probably interference from other wires behind the dash, I think they eventually upgraded my issue but you may to move your wires around to see if it helps, it worked for me,
Mine went dead on me last year. I had to fix a connection on the backside that had come loose. I also had the GPS go out and that was because the puck came loose from it's mount. Good luck.
Well..even though the display is out...it still would engage so at least I know the GPS is fine. After all the attempts to reset the unit...good knows what speed it's set at!
Mine did the same early last year, but after flickering for a few minutes it went into what I refer to as "reverse video mode", where all of the writing appeared as if you were looking at it from the back side! I called Perfect Pass, and they thought there was a problem with the display unit. They sent me a new one for free, but the problem never recurred and so I never replaced it!
@JimG Nice..I plan on crawling in the little itty bitty compartment tomorrow and see if I can see anything that's gotten loose. Otherwise...calling perfect pass on Monday! Maybe I will tell them I'm JimG's best friend and get your deal!
My unit seems very sensitive to low battery voltage. I had mine go blank last season. The battery voltage was down to around 11.5 volts after a long day playing music on the hook. As soon as I paralleled the start bank over it came back on. It would still work when it wasn't displaying anything also.
I bought a Aquaphase about the time the group buy was happening here last winter. I bought it while in the middle of an engine swap. Then a couple of weeks ago I take the boat out to test the new motor. I tried to get to 30mph three times, each time the engine bogged down at 25mph. I kept pulling the throttle and looking for my problem, and was really concerned. On the third try I just pulled back the throttle but not all the way back. I check my gauges and notice the speedo saying, "MORE THROTTLE, MORE TROTTLE, MORE THROTTLE." I felt stupid but with a sigh of relief. Turned off the cruise and all is well.
