Just looking to see if there is anyone out there who decided on the permanent marine mat install (got rid of the OEM snap in) AND fishes a lot.

I always remove the snap in marine mat in the cockpit when i got fishing (which is about 50/50 with just cruising/anchoring). I do that so I don’t have to worry about staining/cleaning the marine mat every time. With fishing, the deck can get pretty nasty, even with regular wash downs. Besides it being a PITA to unbutton/button them, you also have the occasional snap that will corrode, pull out from the deck, etc.

So, if you have done it…any regrets? How is cleanup? Worth it? Thanks!

I've found the secret ingredient to the grey marine mat - Dawn Power Spray. Spray on, hit with a brush, hose off. That stuff will make it look like new again.

That said, my experience isn't around fish blood, so you may want to try some yourself first.
