I saw where @Vedner19 dipped his trailer and decided to do the same. I am happy with the results, but it was a pain. I had to peel it and start over once. Just need to clean up some of the overspray. Here's a photo. image.jpg

Looks nice.. details? Products, amount, est price, time, prep? You know the normal stuff.

I bought the cans in the spray paint isle. With red you need a good base coat so I put two coats of grey then 4 coats of red. In total it took eight cans. $5.98 per can. It took about 20 minutes to spray each coat and 30 minutes between coats at least. I did it during the week after work so I spread it out over a week. Prep is minimal tape up the areas you don't want sprayed. Lay out a plastic sheet on the ground. Make sure you don't tape everywhere though it makes a cleaner line to use an exacto knife and edge the plastidip then peel it up. For example over the orange lights I just sprayed over them draw a Line around them with a knife and peel it up. Makes perfect lines. If you mess up like I did, you just peel it off and do it again. Not too bad if you have a few coats on but one thin coat to peel off sucks. Also I learned a lot by doing this, if you do it make sure you spray in sweeping motions. Watch videos in YouTube. That's where I made my mistake and had to peel it up.

Wow - that looks fantastic!

Looks great! I am curious why you did it to a galvanized trailer? Strictly for the look?

Looks great! I just PlastiDipped my trailer wheels. It too came out great. Thinking of doing my trailer, but not 100% sure just yet.

That looks great. I need to touchup paint my trailer but am considering changing the color to match the boat. How is the long term performance of the plasti-dip. I have used it on small parts dipped but nothing large sprayed. Cam.

Very cool. Makes me want to do the same thing!

I'm thinking of doing my anchor.

I did this over the galvanized because I just don't like the look of galvanized trailer. That's really the only reason. Long term, I'm not sure how it will hold up. I reached out to vedner19 before I did it and he said his is still doing great after a year. Only issue he had was when gas at the pump dripped on it, but it's very easy to touch up. Next I'll be doing the wheels. I'm also looking to add some yamaha stickers to the trailer.

Never saw red plasti-dip used before, but looks great with your boat color.

I had never seen it used before either but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Had a few compliments with it already.

Nice job. I am not a fan of the look of galvanized trailer and think this is a nice option if you are dealing with salt water.

Redirecting this old thread! Any updates on how plastidip holds up on galvanized trailer? I just hate the looks and lining up projects for next spring.
