When I went home from dinner tonight in the dark, my engine screen was out and my tacks were going up to the max and back down slowly, and kept doing it. The engine light would blink on the bottom of both tachs every 3 seconds, red. I just kept it at no wake speed and whet to my hotel 1/2 mile away instead of back to the Marina 6 miles. Anyone have anything like this happen before? and of course it is first day of vacation. I mention it was dark because I used my nav lights if that could make a difference. The tachs and engine screen were not lit up. Except for the red engine sign every 3 seconds.

My guess would be low battery voltage. I’ve had the tachs get squirrely and screen cut on and off when the voltage dropped low. Mine was caused by the DSVR negative lead not being hooked up to the battery so it never charged my house battery when underway.

I just had a similar thing happen today. Both tachs began to act erratic and instrument screen went black.

Mine has been fine ever since. The next morning when I started it up it was fine. When it happened I did not want to shut it down and restart Incase it would not start.
My conex screen will stay backlit if I leave the house battery on. If I want to leave the house power on for the bait-well all night I have to start the motors then shut them off then turn the start battery switch off. It is weird.
