Hello everyone. We are new to boating and are considering buying a 2003 yamaha SR230(jet)or a bayliner 185(propeller), we have found a few bayliners at our current price budget but we are leaning more towards the yamaha sr230 due the dual engines and the cabin flow. We finally found 1 boat yamaha that has been well kept always in lake water it has close to 500 hours in 1 engine and a little less on the other, not sure why that is since the boat uses both engines and its currently stored in our local marina and we had the pleasure to test it in the water and to a newbie like me the boat seemed very stable and didnt jump much, of coarse no other boats were in the lake but we wondering if anyone that has experience can give us an honest opinion on these 2 boats
1 if 500 hours is too much, if the boat has always been services
2 if this boat is a better choice then a bayliner 185 as far durability, maintenance and handling.
3 if paying 3 to $4000 over a bayliner is worth the money.
We are making a decision this weekend, anyone that can help make this easier would be very appreciated.
