Just ran across this on YouTube and some further looking around I found out they just recently had their Kickstarter campaign fully funded. How fun does this thing look!?

Here's their website, although it doesn't give much info it does have a price just under $600.

Pretty cool but I don't think it's worth anything near $600.

I looked into putting jet drives into an Rc boat a few years ago. They sell the pump and intake assmblies for around $50 each online. I just never got into the project far enough to buy the drives only gutted an old Rc boat (ar 230 from radio shack) hull.

$600, depends on what you get. Is it a twin jet with sharpened and balanced metal impellers or just a single jet with a plastic impeller? What's the hull made of, carbon fiber or plastic? What about the engines, are they liquid cooled? Battery type, lipo or nmh or nicad ? Can't forget about the electronics and servo(s), is it the toys r us stuff or the hobbyist grade material?
For $600 if expect the best of every thing since I could put a nice Rc boat together myself for about that much money. On the other hand $600 is the assemble price I assume.

On a side note I was an early investor on the Lily flying camera / kick starter campaign , it was supposed to be shipped in May of this year, so far it's late about two months and the company has not announced a new expected ship date even though many people have asked for one. Release timing of The air dog was even worse. These experiences have soured me on kick starter campians.

I didn't see it upside down, but I wonder what happens if it is? Do you have to swim out and get it? I have an atomik barbwire, a fraction of the cost even with the extras that I put in it and a great little boat. Self righting so if it is upside down then it will turn itself over.

@jcyamaharider , funny you should mention it but when I was into Rc boats if a nitro methane or battery operated boat flipped or died on the water there were a few recovery options at the club I belonged to:
1. Grab a lifevest and take the club row boat out.
2. Attach a tennis ball to a line and start fishing for it (I.e., toss the line over the boat hoping to snag it with the ball).
3. Use another Rc boat to push the busted one back to shore.
I did all of these things way too much so I ended up dropping out of the hobby in favor of real boating.

Check out this video. These guys give a pretty good overview of these boats and really give them a good beating.

@scot71 , you &$@:, after watching that video I'm seriously considering buying one, maybe two. I'm typing this as I look at the last rc boat that I bought which hasn't touched the water in over five years. Also looking at last year's dji phantom 3 that has become a spare to this year's the phantom 4. I forgot about the drift cars under also in the pics. I think I need to sleep on this for at least the weekend, maybe it's time to trim the fleet down a little first.

By the way, the pump is the biggest I've seen in an rc jet boat and a five cell battery is a BFD.

Sorry @Ronnie! I guess I never really thought of myself as being a bad influence before. :p:D

Ok, those are awesome!!!

Mine does not have reverse.

It's ok. The 240 series boats don't either.
