Decided to remove and clean some of my snap-in seadeck panels from my ‘17 212X today. To my surprise, the underside was still wet, despite the boat being garaged and completely dry since October! Be sure to check yours. This can cause deck rot and mold.

Seadek is a non-absorbant closed cell foam and shouldn't retain any water. The fact that it is snap in and the standard is a glue down product is likely the issue. Water is getting trapped and there isn't enough air flow for the water to evaporate. You'll likely need to atleast unsnap and flip the mates back after use so air moves and things can dry out. Similar to marine carpets. I have the glue down seadek and absolutely love it. Wash and forget.

I know everyone loves Seadek, but on my old boat we switched to the new "woven mats" that they came out with a couple years ago. They don't hold water and drying time is quick. I'll have to stick with the Seadek on the new boat until it falls apart and then we'll switch ti the mats again.

I had the snap-in mats the first season on my 17 242x. Those things were ALWAYS retaining water beneath them. At the end of the weekend I was always taking them out and hanging them in the garage to dry. There just isn't any air that gets under them.

My cure was to install the permanent Sea Deck and not look back.

They don't dry and by end of a weekend they stink! We had to make up a Simple Green solution to spray them down on long camping weekends. We almost always have to pull them out and wash/dry them after each trip. Also the glued down stuff on the rear deck is soft. I like to start out wake-surfing from the deck and just the pressure of my weight on the board is enough to rip and gouge the material. I'll have to learn more about the weave stuff if it is tougher??

Dekadence is awesome!! I was going to put this in our last boat but we got a deal on Hydroturf ( same thing as seadeck ) Wish I still did the dekadence.

I installed Seadek and I love it! It was some work upfront, but I love the results. Even while we were living in UT, the carpet would seldom dry unless it was unsnapped and draped over the fence. The snaps would get hot as balls and it was a pain to clean, especially when our then pup would have an accident while underway. Love the look, the feel under foot, and easier to clean. The water channels right off and onto the deck and out the drain. I also think it is safer than carpet. Feel free to hit me up if you have any install questions.
