SeaDek is on

Looks great. I like the name too.

You'll love the SeaDek. I'm on my 3rd season with it. Still my favorite mod.

Thanks to both of you , my wife's name is Crystal , she wouldn't let me use "meth" instead of "clear" . At least I saw the addiction correlation , she did not .lol

Looks great I am putting my order in this week, I think I'm going with the mocha over black but the gray I liked also. I have all the old carpet and snaps out and filled and the swim deck pads off so I'm one step closer.

Really easy to put on . Took about 2 hours including the pressure washing and acetone cleaning.

Keep in mind for a little extra Will can combine pieces. Sometimes I think there are too many breaks in the SeaDek. He combined a few for me and I couldn’t be happier. Not so busy of a look.

That would have been great for the sides and front of the console.

looking at puttin seadek my 2018 sx195 Do i need to remove all the carpet snaps and fill the whole prior to install? if so what do i fill whole with and how?

@swatski as I am pretty sure he has done this and has a write up.

Yes on snap removal. Unfortunately the SeaDek set does not cover all of the holes. The FRP deck has no wooden core (so no worries about rot!), but I would still seal the holes to prevent potential de-lamination issues, and for esthetics.

If I ever do this again, I would go strait to gel coat paste (WC5 is the white that Yamaha uses for decks, 2oz paste can be purchased from iBoats) - its a very simple procedure and requires no skill (almost). Pack it with a toothpick, smooth out, let cure and sand - very small areas and it does not need to be perfect, many spots have textured surface anyway.

A good alternative is 3M 5200, white. It will fill and protect very well, but it does yellow over time.

Both of the above will have a significant cure time (5200 - I would use fast cure, but it is still 24hrs at least) - so the prep and install can not be done same day.

The simplest solution is to use 100% white silicone. Cures in an hour or so.

It doesn't get too hot? I am seriously considering this upgrade but a lot of people say the seadek gets hotter than hell out in the sun all day.

Nope...in 90f sun last summer our grey mats barely get warm. The brown might be a bit warmer, but doubt they would get hot at all. I'll never have a boat without seadek or similar mats again.

Doesn’t get hot. The only thing I would maybe do differently is order the thicker seadek but I wasn’t aware they offered different thicknesses.
