Well that's not good. I bought a new 2021 Yamaha 195S last month. While cleaning seaweed out from the trailer and jet intake, I see this gasket separated from the far side of the shaft opposite the impeller. I can see sealant coming through the screw holes, which tells me this gasket was never screwed into place! My nearest Yamaha dealer couldn't show me the door fast enough! Luckily, I found a more responsive dealer an hour and a half away and will be taking it there next weekend. Anyone else have any experience with this? I was told not to put the boat back in the water with it in this condition. So, I guess I'm losing the next three weeks!

Oh boy, good thing you found this. It's a through-hull fitting that connects to a "hose" on the other side of the transom. The drive shaft is enclosed by the hose inside of the hull in the area where the clean-out ports are. If that through-hull fitting disconnected from the drive shaft hose, your bilge pump would be working overtime just to keep the boat from sinking.
Lucky that you found this.

I mean, you could pull the pump and fix it yourself so you could use if for the next three weeks. I know its a new boat. Probably best to have the dealer do it, but its not a huge deal. Clean and reseal, use some stainless steel screws. It connects to a hose on the back side with a clamp but I don't think you would have to do anything on that side of it.

Pretty poor workmanship though

Sure is lucky you found this. I had one of these crack on my boat (because of a rope) and the boat almost sank.

Like @rad1026 says, it’s not a hard fix if you don’t want to lose 3 weeks. I can’t see how this would affect your warranty but you might want to check with Yamaha. Given their shoddy workmanship my guess they’ll bend over backwards.

I posted my fix (which was more complicated because I had to change the fitting). If you're interested I’ll try and find it

I was trying to find your Thread to post a link. You had some pretty detailed pictures.
