Does anyone have any opinions on the scarab cockpit mat? I wanted it because I hate the carpet but I'm thinking of just going with Seadek. I like the looks of both so I'm looking for some feedback on the mat.

I'm overall happy with the mat. It looks awesome and feels great on your feet. It does however trap dirt under it and it will rip if your not careful when opening up the ski locker.

I believe @007 has the same mat in his Tige and could chime in with an opinion.

I checked it out on his boat at Shelbyville last summer, it has a terrific foot-feel to me... but others have thought the opposite.
I can't speak to how easy it is to live with.

Thanks @GTBRMC , I don't know what is in the Scarab. I have Posiden Mat /Decadence in my Tige. I LOVE IT! Nice a squishy on the feet, confident footing/doesn't slide around, not too hot in the sun. Dirt passes right through it. I actually have basic seadek underneath, I just hose it down and its clean. Once a year I pull it out and sweep underneath.

As per @Rtimleck 's comment above, I don't have a ski locker, so there is never any reason for me to fold or bend it where it could rip.

Not my boat, but image of what I have:

I am 98% sure it was established in a similar thread a year or two ago that Decadence private-labels the Smart Mat for Scarab, so the conclusion was it is exactly the same basic product.

I am going with seadek in my 195 HOI. I hate the carpet and the swim deck gets pretty hot when the sun beats on it. No opinion on the Scarab product, it's probably over priced like everything else.

Just installed seadeck in my scarab. It feels fantastic on bare feet. Very cushiony. Don't know how it feels after being in the bright summer sun.
