A couple of times this summer I've noticed what looks like smoke coming from the back of the boat near the jet pump. What I surmised is that water was slapping up into the exhaust and causing some steam? I noticed it yesterday while my wife was picking me back up after a wakeboard fall.

Anyone else notice this? I would figure if there was a real problem I'd see it a lot more often.

The exhaust exits at the inner side of he hull behind the jet pump. It has this weird pointy finger cutout on it. I've seen some faint steam once or so from mine if I turn and list which exposes some of the exhaust since it's normally sitting in water. That's normal steam/vapor. Nowhere near the amount you can see on the back of the Chaps or Scarabs with the BRP motors that use that heat extractor rideplate.

Smoke would usually be thick white, blue or black. It would typically be more constant and looks much different than steam vapor. Thick smoke would not be normal IMO.

I often time see the same thing out the back of mine, more so when I have been running hard. I figured it was just exhaust since everything sounded normal. Over a hundred hours now and still seems to be running fine so I think it is very normal.
