I bought Kill mat from amazon (3 Boxes), it seems to work very well. went from having to scream in the ear at high rpms to just raise the voice a little bit while seating on the captains seats. I did all this while I was overhauling the boat and making so20200404_154202.jpgme mods. I also removed the resonators. Attached are some pics. Any questions ask.

Where did you get your Killmat from and how much did you get to do all of that?

You are also going to need this. Wear gloves because edges of kill mat are sharp.

Figured Amazon but wasn't sure if you maybe found it cheaper somewhere else. Thanks for the info.

What made you decide to try adding this to the bilge area aft of the engine compartment?

Did you have a comparison or just doing the engine compartment vs the engine compartment and bilge?

Did you have any concerns over the longevity of the product with It being exposed to water (bilge)?

thanks for sharing!

I did it in the bilge area because that's where the mufflers and resonators are plus it is easier to cover the back engine bulkhead from the back. it actually made a big difference. I bought the boat from my brother and he told me he actually enjoy how quiet it is now compared to when he had it.

The product is actually water and heat proof. especially if applied correctly. basically it became an aluminum surface.

I may try that on the upper dry areas. Thanks! The bottom area seems like it won't hold up too long. Water, detergent, and all the other bilge rats that drain may get to it in a couple years if not kept dry & clean.

I added an automatic bilge pump for that area plus the thickness of the material makes the floor flush with the drain hole for easy draining.

Here are some pics of the automatic bilge pump in the aft bilge.

I used a regular sink drain with dishwasher drain, I put a tee to connect bilge discharge and deck drain together to discharge through the rear deck drain. I used the deck drain hole to route my underwater lights and Garming depth sounder through it. Hope this give you an idea.

What adhesive did you use? And did you finish the edges with any tape or anything? Last question: did you add or replace gasket on the engine compartment?

Nice! I may have to do this. I have a bunch of this leftover from my truck stereo upgrade

the killmat has his own adhesive backing. I just cleaned the surfaces before applying. I did replace all the exhaust gaskets and hatch seal gaskets.

Also i did not finished any of the edges with aluminum tape. Just put the killmat tiles against each other or even overlaping is okay.
