Hey guys about to get started on my stereo upgrade thinking about add a few more 6.5 was wondering where every body is putting there's or any suggestions on where to add them . My boat is a 07 sx210

Thanks for the help

Tons of info on stereo upgrades in the FAQs and elsewhere. I used this forum extensively when I did my upgrade a couple of years ago. Have you checked out the FAQs?

Not sure what you currently have but here are a few quick thoughts:

- I have two bow, two rear cabin and and two swim platform speakers. I added two more in the footwells of the driver and passenger side. Would have preferred to mount them higher but didn't have enough room.
- if you add several speakers, you’re likely going to need an amp or two. Do you have one now? How many channels?
- most people have at least one sub and what type and where you place it is a whole other discussion. I had one stock but replaced with a JL Audio infinite baffle sub (designed not to be placed in a box) and it sounds much better. I may add a second one down the road.

Lots of other things to think about (placement of amps, wiring, type of wire, etc.). Happy to help further but I’d suggest you look at the FAQs, tell us what you currently have, what your goals are (quiet listening while stopped, rock the cove, listening at speed, etc.) and what your budget is.

Good luck.

Looking to add 2 or four more 6.5 just depends . I will be getting a amp . Just curious where people are adding there's . Mine has all the stock equipment

What was the stock in 2007? Where are your current speakers?

They are polk I'm thinking of going with kicker

Thx. I was asking more about where your current speakers are placed in the boat.

Re the brand, just make sure they are true Marine grade. Polk says their stuff is but it’s really not.

I know Wetsounds and JL are, not sure about others.

Two in the bow area and two in the back seating area to the left and right of the engine hatch

Got it. If I were you, I’d add two more in the front cabin and two more in the swim platform area. Mine came with the ones in the swim platform and they’re great. Mine are 5 1/4 though. Putting in 6.5s would be tricky because of the curve of the hull. Not sure if that’s true in the 07s.

I added the two in the front cabin because I really couldn’t hear much at other than no wake speed.

First: check out the sound and electronics part of the board. Lots of good threads there on stereo stuff.

Then: I wanted sound on my back deck, but could not find a suitable location (without cutting the cushions, as some have done). I wound up with a cheap set of tower speakers. They are not going to throw sound to a surfer or anything, but when we are lounging off the back deck, they add just enough of the treble to make it really nice.

Also, speaker-wise, I would do the amp first. You will be surprised how good things get with just that upgrade. Then go for speakers... IMHO.

I am not familiar with the layout of your boat. On the newer boats, adding a pair in the middle is a nice upgrade.

The swim platform is also really nice for hanging out back, the inside speakers can get hard to hear.

Yea looking at where to add them in the main searing area also thought about the swim platform
