Hey Y'all...

Been boating on Lake West Point (Slip at Southern Harbour) last 3 seasons and was wondering if anyone around here boats on this Lake? It's very quiet and barely any boat traffic. I love it. I've seen a few Yamaha's over the last 3 years but maybe only 2-3 total. I know West Point gets a bad rap but thats just fine with me. Water is pretty clear and zero traffic.

Going to Be on Lake Martin in AL later this summer for a week. June 18-25th. If anyone is getting together or will be out there let me know. We will be tubing, wake boarding etc for sure. Probably end up at Chimney rock at some point..

There's a group on Facebook - "Alabama Jet Boaters". Find us there. We're always planning some type of 2-3 boat gatherings. I've been to Lake Martin one time. I normally head south to the Destin/Ft. Walton Beach area.

We usually hit up Lake Martin a couple times per year. Why does West Point get a bad rep?

Well it 's down stream of Atlanta and the Chattahoochee. Back when the "hooch" was pretty nasty it flowed into West Point and gave it a bad rap. But now, since they are better at protecting the "hooch" West Point is now also cleaner. Just an old stigma with the lakes reputation. Personally I love it.. Weekdays I'll see maybe 2-3 other boats with most of those being bass boats fishing and on weekends its usually pretty crowded with about 10(max) other boats total...LOL

Not sure if we will be on lake Martin that weekend or not but it's possible. I was looking at lake homes and cabins for rent on VRBO last night and found a few I liked for the family. it's a beautiful lake even if it's near Auburn cow country.

If you look real hard you can see another boat... Saw a party cove cranking up last Saturday..had 3 pontoon boats mored. This place is out of control :D IMG_7540.JPGIMG_7541.JPG IMG_6130.JPG
