Ive got a 93 sea ray with a sport jet 90. It had a loss of spark and read to disconnect the yellow/black wire from the switch box. I did so and now i have spark. My question is what does this mean in regards to the wire? Is the switch box bad? Or something else.

Maybe a kill switch or safety switch is shorted somewhere on the boat?

I’d check the wiring and electrical connections throughout the boat.

The yellow/black wire is the ignition short to ground (black wire). This is the engine stop circuit. Simple first, emergency stop switch, ignition switch or wiring harness (chaffed and shorting out). Just a process of elimination.
