starboard storage locker light stays on

Hi Everyone--
I have an 2008 SX 230. The starboard storage locker (where the head will go if i used a head) has an interior light that does not go out when everything else is turned off. Have run my battery down, twice this summer, and I am guessing that is the problem. Does anyone know how to turn this light off or should I just unscrew the conver and take the bulb out?

I think that is just a push on the lens and that turns it on/off ?? I can't remember the last time I used mine
