I have an '06 SR210 and No Wake Mode has always worked fine on both engines, however this year upon launching it will not engage on the stb engine. Any thoughts?

I did a search and read that if you possibly tap power from the ignition switches that has been known to cause an issue possibly (which I did the other year for RideSteady), but it worked fine all that year.

Obviously I need to check the wires to the back of the switch for connection issues, but that is a given.

Any other areas I need to look at or check?

RPM's on both engine are exactly the same when attempted to engage so it is not above the 'idle' threshold since the port works fine.

If you have any other thoughts please let me know!

On my boat I occasionally have a problem because the contacts in the switch don't make. Try pressing the switch and twisting a bit to kind of grind the contacts together.

My 2008 SX230 was doing the same thing. I tried twisting the switch while pressing. It worked every time for both engines. I looked up the cost of new switches from Yamaha. About a $100 each. Anyone have luck cleaning the contacts on the switches or know a cheaper place to get new ones?

I ordered in a new OEM switch and it solved the problem last year. I did not try to clean the contacts. Figured it was 12 years old, the new should last just as long so for $100 it was worth it not to worry about it again.

Just posted a reply to a similar thread, this seems to have worked for me....

I had a similar issue but my Starboard Engine would not engage no wake after it had been running for a while, there is a throttle stop screw under the air filter, 1/8 to 1/4 turn Anti-Clockwise seems to resolve the issue, it is a T style head on the screw for reference. take the air filter out and it is pretty well central and easy to spot.

I recently bought a 2010 model 212X. There are both port and starboard No Wake switches at the helm, with a No Wake sticker/decal above them. However, no matter how often I've tried engaging the no wake feature, nothing happens. This is from a neutral position of the throttle or in the forward position with low rpm. I will try the adjustment of the throttle stop screw that plasticpig is suggesting. I can also purchase two new switches and replace them. If anyone else has this experience, I'd love to hear other possibilities. My mechanic says it probably doesn't have the no wake feature built-in when it was new in 2010, which is why he says it doesn't work. But, I find that hard to believe !
