Stern Light Base

For some reason my stern light base doesn't have any prongs sticking up for the light pole to connect to. When I look in the base, the the 2 metal prongs are flush with the bottom light base. Can the prongs fall down into the bottom of the base? Here is a pic I pulled from the other site. That thread didn't give a resolution. The light worked all of last season except for the very end when I noticed this.

If you need a new base I can send you mine.... I should be taking it out this week since I moved my anchor light to my tower.
