Our Family 2019 Yamaha limited 212 was recently stolen out of Rochester NY, it was in storage and someone took it form there. Attached are photos. Could everyone keep their eyes out for this boat. We have no real leads and I imagine it could be anywhere. Probably out of the area as we still have snow on the ground here. Anything will help. That’s brutal. Hope they find the thief’s and toss away the keys. Least your guys laws are way stricter then our Canadian ones. Good luck

What does someone do with a stolen boat ? Strip it or just boat around unregistered ?

Thats sucks, I will keep an eye out, hope you get it back soon!

sorry hope it is recovered for you

Anything unique, stereo or batteries

I’m in Rochester as well. What storage facility? Do they have any video or anything to help?

Me Too...What LE Agency did you report it to?

Let us know if we can help in any way...

Boy that's a real shame. Unfortunately, it's likely already on a shipping container heading out to sea. A buddy of mine had his big dually truck stolen here in Orlando. By the time he woke, the tracking device showed it in Miami... at the docks. Clearly the last place it had signal before being removed. Port athorities said nothing they can do about it once in international waters and not knowing what ship it's on. I have a tracking device on mine that will alert you when moved and or leaves a zone you set. You can then jump in your truck while on with the police. Great little device. You do ned to keep a solar charger on your battery or it will drain it in a few two-three weeks. Pocketfinder.com. I think I pay like 12 bucks a month per device. There are others out there on the market, but I've been happy with this unit. Sorry for your loss, hopefully it's not as bad as all this and you'll have it back by Monday.

If someone stole my boat I don’t want it back or found. That’s what insurance is for.

Agree. If they steal mine, I am so heavily insured that it is time for an upgrade. Only problem is there is no inventory so it would cost me a season maybe.

The feeling would suck and I feel for those who get their property stolen.

No cameras at the storage facility?
Not a security gate to get in?
My boat would not be at a place unless it was completely secure and had adequate surveillance

I have to check with my insurance company and make sure I’m covered if it gets stolen.

Horrible news. How disapponting. :(

What I did was insure for exact replacement for the model year within 2 years. So basically if mine was ripped off this year they will set its MSRP value to replace at what they are going for now, not what I actually paid for it, which was substantially under MSRP last year. Also I have 20k in riders on it so all modifications, gear, and personal belongings are covered up to 20k. Let's face it, if your boat gets stolen on a trip and you are loaded up with stuff, there is a lot of money there. And all the modifications we do to our boats can easily hit 10k+ very quickly.

EDIT: This also applies if it catches fire or if I am in an accident.

.... NOT an advertisement to leave your boat hooked up the truck with the keys in it and the engine running.

:) Just kidding.

@Philmd , sorry to read about your boat and trailer being stolen. I can relate, happened to me over 10 years ago. Hopefully you have great insurance coverage and good luck in finding a replacement boat before your next boating season.

Unless the dicks that stole it got the keys or has the ability to start the boat without them, the boat is already being stripped for parts. That’s what was taken from mine (not many though). After they got what they wanted they abandoned it on its trailer (which they painted a new color) in a residential neighborhood hood in a nearby city.

what I got back I didn’t want back but they did offer to sell it to me for about 30% of what they paid me.

Did your insurer tell you about their claims and approval process yet? Mine took six weeks before they declared it a loss. That is, they made me wait a minimum of six weeks to pay me.
