So I installed a 10”JL on the passenger side in the wall behind seat. Now I’m wondering if I can fit one under the shifter on driver’s side. It looks like it has the same depth , just wondering if anyone else has.

There are cables that come off of the throttle up/down - you can take that off really quick and get some measurements.

For those of us that have done the throttle drop fix, I can tell you that you will be surprised at how far down the throttle mechanism goes down, let alone the cables.

As anmut mentioned, they are easy to pull up, once you take the cap off the top. Good luck.

I installed a 10” sub Under my throttle a few years ago, no problems at all. If you are concerned about depth, drill a small pilot hole where the center of the sun will be and use an uncooked spaghetti noodle to check the depth to the inner hull wall. I didn’t think to remove the throttle mechanism when I did my install but you can see through the helm that the cables run straight down and along the floor not along the wall you will be drilling into.
