I am interested in getting a sun shade/cover for the side of my moored boat. My boat (AR190) is moored in the water for 6 months of the year. The port side (left side) of the boat gets a lot of sun on it from about 11:00am until 8:00pm. I have a moorage cover (pictured) that covers everything above the rub-rail, but I'm interested in getting a cover/shade to hang off the cleats on the port side down to a few inches above the water, just to keep the sun off of it and to prevent fading of the decals and gelcoat. Has anyone ever considered or done this? I have called a few local canvas and awning shops, but their lead time is too long and cost is high ($700 - $1,500).

Of course I have 2 layers of marine wax on the boat (and am considering putting a layer of 303 protectant over the top of that, I've heard good things about that products UV protection), but I'm looking to keep this boat looking fantastic for years to come and this seems like a good idea if possible.

I have sides for my cover but I store on a lift. (Worldcat). Would probably be a real pain in the ass installing and taking off moored. Without getting the cover wet soaking wet every time. I know if a pain on the lift. 48D8F23B-327C-471D-8421-5E606A8AFBEC.jpeg
