In talking to this guy locally he had the 190 out yesterday, it stalled out and won't start back up....last summer same problem, diagnosed as an electrical issue of sorts so he replaced a wiring harness with leads....it fixed the problem. Now the boat is doing the same thing, I'm going over tonight or tomorrow to have a look at it....wondering anyone's thoughts of potential issues things to look for.....he told me plugs, oil change, all that stuff done last year. Thanks in advance for your help.

1st place to look: wiggle the safety switch. Sometimes the clip gets just a hair too thin.

You're referring to the switch right under the throttle or dash with the tether on it? or the one under the swim deck lid?

YES.
Kidding, but only a little.

He mentioned the clip so I'll bet he meant the safely switch that holds the lanyard to shut the boat off if you pull it.

The other switch can also cause that when it breaks just right, and only does half the job. Normally you can't crank if the rear hatch switch is the problem, but it has 2 switches in there, so it would be rare but possible that it was the hatch switch.

Check clean out hatch switch

Does the starter turn the engine over with the key? Do the engine dials work? The safety lanyard won't prevent turning the engine, but it will disable the ignition.

The safety switch in the rear access hatch should prevent the engine from turning over.

Both can be bypassed for testing.

Thanks...I plan on checking this all out with him tonight....check the simple things first...appreciate everyone's input!
