Hey all - looking at new lake houses, and several on the radar are either on the part of the lake that require me to go under a bridge or have boat houses that won't accommodate my tower.

Has anyone successfully retrofitted a forward sweeping non-collapsible tower to allow it to fold?

Thanks

I'm planning to do this eventually.
They won't delete here what is posted over there. Over there will delete what is posted over here.
Good find!
Cutting the pipe may be scary for some but not that bad of a mod!
Give a try and let us know?
I may suggest finding a machine shop. May cost a few hundred to get it done like that but i bet everything would be exact when done!

I've been saving that thread for the day I have the time, correct tool, and balls, to cut them posts. Aluminum sucks to cut, it clogs up saw blades fast, so not sure what is the best method to make such important cuts. Machine shop would require dropping off, and they probably want the whole thing unbolted off the boat. I plan to just suspend the top half from a carport, pull the boat forward, lower the tower on a pair of work horses to cut them.

My FIL works at a machine shop along with a bunch of 2nd cousins and 2nd uncle(?) And i know they have done stuff like this before. They won't necessarily need it off. Just call and ask!

Cool - thats in line with what I was thinking would work. I need to do some measurements and see if that gets me enough clearance.
