Ok Newbie question: Are the stock 242 tower speakers somewhat weatherproof? Mine will be in my driveway without the bimini cover on for about a week while I get some things sorted out.

Not sure if you're talking about a Wet Sounds sound bar or the Icon 8's that came on the 242 Xe's, or something else. You can get speaker covers/cases for Wet Sounds tower speakers.

But my guess is that a week isn't going to hurt anything. They should be plenty waterproof enough. I'd be more concerned about eventual sun damage to the speaker elements, but a week should be fine.

Thanks for the info @JDRacing. My question was related to both the sound bar and 8" icons. I'll be looking for speaker covers this week as well.
