My trailer brake light and blinkers work but my running lights on it do not. Where should I start? No problems with truck lights at all. I apologize for posting this because I am sure its a simple thing but I honestly have no idea where to start. Thanks.

Start with checking all the ground connections to the frame. Often times they corrode and a bad ground will haunt you. Then check all the connections between the lights. I thought I had a bad bulb capsule last year and it turned out to be a bad connection - it didn't show itself until I found and purchased a replacement and was flat on my back under the trailer in the process of replacing it of course.
Cleaning the contacts should be part of my annual maintenance but I seem to leave that off the list somehow....

Here you go, found what I was looking for...

You didn't mention the type of connector, but here is a diagram for a flat 5:

You can test the wires using a small 12 v battery. Or you can buy a tester:

You might have a battery, cheaper than the tester. But the tester can come in handy.

I have had issues with my pigtail. Make sure all contacts/connectors are free from corrosion and are actually making contact with each other.

Also, depending on your tow vehicle, if it has a factory tow package, it probably has fuses for each pin on the electrical Hookup. They might be under the hood or in the cab. I've run across blown fuses for tail lights on the tow vehicle before. Usually from water getting in the light housi ng and shorting out, causing a fuse to blow. Also if you fold the tongue a lot, check for pinched cable there.

I know my Shoreland'r trailer has all the grounds connected up front, so there isn't any grounds to the trailer near the lights, so that might not be the case here on your 2013. Also might help us diagnose a bit if you let us know if you have a galvanized or painted trailer and if it has all LED lights, or bulb lights.

One thing that got me in the past was a half burnt out bulb, the brake light worked, but the dimmed portion was out and that caused some funky light combos to work/not work. I have since switched to all LEDs, and this issue was the #1 reason why I made the switch. But basically you start at the front (with the vehicle connection) and work your way back to make sure everything is connected and not corroded, then check bulbs (if you have them). I'm not sure you can do much if a LED block goes bad on you.

BTW, here is where you can get a manual (service and owners) from Shoreland'r, if that's what brand trailer you have...

It is a painted shorelandr with bulb light. I am getting it back out this weekend and my plan is to get under get this thing figured out.

Then I would say buy the brake light bulbs and replace those first. They are pretty standard auto bulbs model #s so really any shop will sell them.
