I was hoping for some information about a particular pump and some ideas of where to clamp off the intake in the FSH in the event of towing:

Is this the pump that brings in water for the live well?

The pipe is pretty narrow here and I'd like to be able to clamp it in the event, however unlikely, I need to be towed. Should I replace this tube with a slightly longer one or is there another location I can clamp it? I noticed in another thread on a different Yamaha that someone added an inline shut off. Recommendations?

If this is the pipe that brings in water for the wash down, does it go to a pump out of sight and then to the wash down hose? Or does it use engine "suction"? I was thinking of placing the hose into the casting net storage area for a potential fresh water tank location. I know about using a separate wash down pump that Out on the Reef used but I was thinking of branching off the existing hose to a fresh water tank in the casting net storage.

I don't know about the wash down pumps/hoses,

Your red arrow is where most people clamp the cooling water hose because it's the most convenient in the engine compartment, I believe on other boats it's a slightly longer hose though
The red hose above is from the fresh water engine flush adapter,
you could clamp to the rear of the Y if you had room,
some people put the "tow valve" option in the bilge area and access it through the manhole hove in the cleanout hatch area (although there is some feelings now that the valve may restrict normal cooling water flow and it's just as easy to clamp)

Worst case scenario is you could just disconnect the hose at the Y and either clamp it, lift it up and let gravity keep water out and any that might spill in the bilge can pump out,

You should watch the cooling water video in our FAQ tab at the top of the page, the same principals apply to your engine,

Thank you. I hadn't thought about accessing the cooling water hose through the wet locker. I'll look for that video.
