I'm sure that it would work. I've used plenty of things to lock threads when loctite is not available.
 
Your on right track. Manual calls for low strength thread sealant.
 
yes but thread sealant is just that sealant .. it has no locking mechanism .. i think i may need to back each bolt out and re do
 
@yam240sx A low strength thread sealant. What is equally important are the torque values.
