Well - apparently someone's ears were burning. Got a text from my dealer today (Lynnhaven Marine in VA Beach, VA) that my 255XD has JUST NOW been marked as "Confirmed". Basically just means my boat is going to into production, but no additional dates confirmed.
Crazy that the order went in on August 12th and just now getting confirmation. Oh well - better late than never - it's cold now anyway!

@David.Parrish ....great attitude. It is getting colder and you will not be billed for a while - so money saved. Plus, in my opinion, the manufacturers have had time to sort-out their supply lines and normalize their production lines. Your boat will not be one of the ones pulled-off an assembly line to wait in a Yamaha storage lot for parts to arrive then be re-inserted into the assembly line and that too has to be good. Likely too, any initial production "glitches" noticed by Yamaha, its dealers or owners have been addressed by Yamaha or at least reported to Yamaha for consideration. I think you are winning this one so far.
@Canuckjetboater Couldn't agree more. Finally got another update - estimated ship date is THIS THURSDAY (2/25/21) - Woo! They said it will obviously depend on weather and the ability for them to get a driver, but hopefully that isn't too much of an issue. With a short haul from Georgia to Virginia, could be here as early as this weekend. Still too cold for my taste, but with warm weather on the horizon, it will be nice to get the sea trial out of the way and make sure the boat doesn't have anything too glaring from the factory.
Awww man!!! I was reading through this thread and felt the anticipation. Saw you just posted and was hoping for pix or something. Then I read your post! Sorry buddy...Head High and hang there...you are close and it will happen
Still waiting on delivery of my 255XE to my dealer in NC. Was told this week that the boat is fully built with the exception of the 3 ballast pumps. Dealer said Yamaha told him there are 10-12 boats waiting on these pumps and all waiting to go out following arrival of the pumps. My latest date is April 8
I have used them before and had good luck. Full transparency that was 2-3 years ago, but I thought the quality, price, and customer service were good back then.
If anyone with a 255 is tech savy, I need a picture of the back of the 12" screen. It's 4 bolts to take out, very simple, I am trying to identify the output wires for the tower speaker zone.
I picked up my 255XE from my dealer on April 10th. Put her in the water for the first time for a few hours on the 11th. Unfortunately i had a few issues that required me to take it back to the dealer the following day. Some of my issues included excessive water in the ski locker after going through no wake which i assume was from the poor anchor locker drain seal, port check engine light every time the motor was turned on, stop steering starboard fault with loss of control of starboard throttle after sitting at beach for a hour, and the wet sounds sound bar didn't work). I also had little to no people getting in and out of the boat, however, both of my clean out plugs were filled with water when i got back. I dont think these new 21 boats will have the issue of water running over the swim deck after slowing down because the second level of the swim deck is up much higher. Not sure where this water came from? I am out of town until the end of the month so im hoping my dealer can get all of these issues taken care of while im gone.
I owned a 16 AR240 for almost 5 years and had almost zero issues like this. Im sure you can understand how frustrated i was after buying a $90K boat and it taking on 6 inches of water after only being in the water for 30 minutes. I have good faith that my dealer will take care of these issues and it will be smooth sailing from now on.

Wow! That is extremely frustrating. I am STILL waiting for mine. Sorry to hear about your experience thus far. I hope they get is straightened out for you.

The water in your cleanout ports is coming from the cleanout tray drain, not from water on the swim deck. The drain tube runs from the cleanout tray to under the swim deck just above the waterline. Any time you come off plane or slow the boat down water will rush up in the drain tube and then spray into the cleanout tray where most of it dumps on top of the cleanout plugs. There is no check valve on the drain tube. You could add one to prevent the water back flowing.
My new 2021 212XD does collect water in one of the of the cleanout ports too. I added it to the list of minor defects I'm going to have the dealer fix.
