I'm curious as to the elevation people are able to get when jumping wake to wake.

I am guessing I peak at about 4 feet up (2008 212X, typically w/ stock 750# ballast, about 4 passengers, riding 20 mph and 65' rope).

Either I can still improve my technique or I'm starting to max out our relatively small wake.

To answer my own question, I was definitely maxing out the wake (although I'm sure I have room for improvement in technique). Pic below is one of the first few jumps behind my new 2017 Moomba Helix. I would guess to be getting about double the height on jumps vs the 212X (below is with stock ballast at 75% and only 1 person in the boat).

I've seen most people "jump" with knees bent into wake. One of my friends who wakeboard a lot said you want to be little stiffer and tall going into the wake and let it throw you.

The little I tried it seemed to add extra air to my jump. I haven't boarded in few years, but he told me "you're doing it all wrong".

I found this video recently that had some tips I'm hoping will help me improve my launch off the wake. Basically confirming what was stated by @Wisefam22.

Technique is huge. My cousins came to ride in a 18 Bayliner and we're nailing 540s 5'up.

Hey Spatty, congratulations on the new ride. As Jgorm suggests, it's 90% technique and so many little things go into getting big air: approach angle/speed, timing, pop/weighting, body position, not to mention board design. Guessing the video above has a ton of constructive pointers, and as an Orlando guy you are surrounded by world-class riders/instructors that could help raise your game substantially in only a few sessions (i.e., www.freedomwakepark.com), plus it is FUN and you meet some great riders.
