I just finished our boat wash-down system installation yesterday. Although I didn’t take any pictures as I went, I do have some of the finished setup. This system works better than I could have hoped for, and was fun to install. See below for the parts list.

There are/were a few things that needed tweaking. First, the original vent fitting didn’t have an included screen to keep insects from getting in, so I swapped it out with the one listed on the parts list (didn’t drill the hole until new one came in, and I was pleased with it).

Second, the water tank itself was supposed to be installed under the starboard aft section of the boat. Although the dimensions technically fit, the tank was just a little too large to get through the fiberglass opening where the seat rests. I didn’t want to trim the fiberglass in any way, so the backup plan was to place it in the ski locker (which we almost never use). Since placing it in the locker, I will likely get a tank with different dimensions that will fit the contours of the locker even better, and be a little higher capacity.

Originally I used a T. H. Marine WDSB-2-B Washdown Station And Hose, but thought the quality was lacking, so I got the Hosecoil instead. The Hosecoil is VERY good quality, and highly recommend it to anyone.

When the system was set to 45 PSI, I could shoot a stream of water about 25’ straight up into the air. I turned it back to about 30 PSI, which still gives plenty of pressure, but doesn’t drain the tank nearly as fast. In the future, we may add some extra fixtures at either the bow and/or the swim platform for rinsing, even though the 15’ Hosecoil will stretch to either end of the boat.

Looks great. Did you install a breather on your tank? If so, where?

Yes, breather is right under fill port. When the breather spits out water, I know its full.

Cool, will the coil reach to the rear deck?

My fault, just read you post again, either end of the boat
