wife and I are heading to West Palm to visit family probably be down there about 2 weeks. So we thought about driving down there so we could take our boat. Our family stays in west palm and we go to the beach or canal often love how clear the water is compared to our lakes here in Texas. How are these boats handling in the canal and out in the ocean? We are trying to decide if it's worth taking the boat or not. Did a few people ride all the way to the Bahamas a few years back?

All my Floridians thanks in advance.

I go out of St. Lucie inlet, north of West Palm. Canals are awesome usually little chop a lot of minimum wake cruise zones along the ICW. Tequesta sand bar is really nice and Peanut Island in Riveria Beach is nice as well right by the Blue Heron Bridge. It is one of the top dive and snorkel sights in the world. Ocean is calm these days well minus this storm heading through. We saw manatees and Dolphins Saturday in the ICW as we went to Tequesta. Just watch the forecast for the ocean or pull up webcams before leaving. We stay in the ICW when the ocean is 3' or over usually 1.5 or less is great.

Thanks for all the help guys.. wife and I took boat out in ocean when we had the smaller 18 footer but it was in Destin FL. I believe we will probably bar and island hop in the ICW.

Post up when you do! My wife and I would be willing to come to Tequesta area! Have fun and watch for manatees! Plus keep an eye for wake zones as they change pretty quick on the ICW.

I believe we are going to leave texas on Wednesday. Probably be out and about sat-following sat.

Hoping the water stays clear and calm after this storm. The lake okeechobee run off can dirty up the waters quick around here.

Hopefully by the weekend the storm will have passed and water has cleared up..

I'm not sure where you may launch from but the Flagler Bridge construction is going on right now and will possibly delay reroute water traffic if that is on your route. It's on SeaTow Facebook for SeaTow Palm Beach. Just a heads up. I didn't look into it to much as I'm not down that way but may wanna check for your use.

I boat on the ICW in FL and we never go in the ocean. There is just so much to see/do inland that we don't bother. I was in West Palm last week and it was pretty rough. I only saw deep V center console boats in the ocean. A bow rider would not have been fun.
