Tore into the boat the other day to do the ss scupper replacement and ordered the attwood part everyone recommends. On the way in I Had to use blocks and 4’ bar to get the plugs out so ordered the rebuild kits for them. After I got the plate off noticed a shit tone of clamps busted on the floor and pretty much can’t believe one of the hoses didn’t blow off this season. So today I got the plug kits and ss scupper and said let me throw this thing in real quick since I had everything apart waiting to get the new clamps. Well got damn if this bitch don’t fit right in the 07 sx230. That 5200 sealant is a damn mess to clean up and I’m pretty much going to have to grind down a bunch off this attwood to make it work so figured Ide throw this out there. The attwood does not fit the 07 sx230 without some grinding on the sides of the front and a bit from the back flange for it to spin and mount flush.Rebuilding the plugs and filling the holes in the deck for seadek was a breeze so all was not lost today.

I had to grind the sides of the scupper to get it to fit in my ‘06 also.

If you read through the scupper replacement threads it is stated that you will have to grind down the sides of the new SS scupper to make it fit in our boats.

Yes, it does require grinding/machining. I chucked mine up in a lathe and machined the flange down all around. The extra work to make the Attwood fit is well worth the extra time. Sorry you had to find out the hard way, but you won't regret it next year.

I've said this before and I'm going to throw it out there again. The ABYC recommends against installing stainless steel fittings below the waterline. Bronze or Marelon are the recommended material choices.
