This is the inside of the port side wet storage area behind the seat on the swim deck - 2018 242X. Looks like previous owner added sealant. Any ideas what may have been going on here?

I have a 2019 and mine looks exactly the same. I questioned it also and it appear that is the "factory" seal.

Well, I guess that makes me feel better!

Zach at engineering testing: "Hey Jake, We should have factory sealed that opening"
Jake: "Shit man, it's way too late!"
Zach: " Shit man nothing, what do we do? Ask Johnny on the line to fix it?"
Jake: " Hell yeah, Johnny will break out his caulk gun and all that shit. It's all good"
Zach: "Cool, hope it looks legit"

I am not sure if sealing this is necessary, my boat in storage so I can’t check. Given this is a wet storage area, it means it needs a place to drain excess water. Wouldn’t water move out of there and into the bilge area? Guess I’m going to look closer at mine next time unless someone has quick access to their boat and verify if this is factory sealed or not.

I agree with that it needs a place or should drain...but it is weird. All cool. My boat goes on the water for the first time (as me owner) and if it sinks I will think about this thread.

No but. yes.
