Winterize after 10hr Service?

Hey all, new Yamaha AR240 owner here. Thoroughly enjoyed it with the fam this summer however with school and sports starting up we are going to keep it stored indoors for the colder months in Missouri. Looks like we might get out a few more times before its all said and done but probably no more than an additional 5 hours at most on the engines.

So I have read a lot here about winterizing and most have mentioned changing out the oil, however with our boat being a 2020 we just recently had the 10 hour service completed, which makes me question if its necessary to change again so soon? Also, is it worth doing much of anything else besides blowing out the access water, adding some fuel stabilizer, and putting the batteries on a trickle charge this winter? Should I worry about fogging the engines with only 15 or so hours on them?

I posed the same question I live in Minnesota I didn’t get much of a response maybe because there is a lot of information on the forum but I think you’ll probably be OK to put the battery on a tender make sure there is no standing water, burp the throttles etc. stabilize the fuel tank make sure it’s full of gas etc. I don’t really think fogging is necessary especially with these boats. I’ll probably switch out the plugs on mine and change the oil in the spring when I pull it out of indoor storage.

Thanks, did you recently get the 10 hour service done as well?

Guess I am wondering how often the oil should be changed, and if it is something that you just do every year. If I winterize, the current oil only has about 3 or so hours in the engine, it'll maybe have 6 or 7 by the time we take it in storage.

Well I’m well past my 10 hour. Bought the boat new in May 2019 and I’m close to 100 hours already and yes I did do the 10 hour service but if you just had yours done I wouldn’t change the oil again I’ve just been making it a practice to start the season fresh with new plugs and new oil whether it’s entirely necessary or not for the plugs I doubt it but it’s peace of mind and cheap.

Yeah that makes sense, I think next year I would go ahead and do the same but with it having new oil just hours ago probably just do the minimum like you said.

I wouldn't bother changing the oil at this point, but going forward you'll probably be on the schedule to change the oil right before winter each year. I do fog my engines, even though not strictly required. I run some antifreeze through it as well, also not required. Both are cheap insurance to me.

Definitely add some stabil, fill up the tank, and run the motors a bit to ensure the fuel system gets stabilize fuel through it.
