I have a 2023 yamaha 222x I’m trying to wire up a string of strip LEDs in the interior I tapped the power red wire and black ground wire from the USB connection at the helm I ran the wires to the extra acc push switch on the dash. The switch stays on in or out

What I’m I doing wrong is there a better place for me to tap into power behind the helm ?
