So it seems when I try to go forward or reverse I’m pushing just water. The gate seems to be stuck in the upper to high position. So it’s in Neutral. Will not engage forward unless I give it more gas but then it’s spraying water out the back.
Anyone no how to adjust the gate to correct this wonderful problem.

Had boat put last weekend and zero issues.

Thanks

Stranded. lol

I know little about Scarabs but if it was my Yamaha or Seadoo, the first thing I'd do is see if the gate moves when you put it in F or R.

If it doesn't, which sounds like your case, the next step would be to check the cable going into the gate. If that's moving, then either the gate is jammed/frozen somehow or the connection to the gate is maybe broken or come apart.

if the cable doesn't move, then either there's a break somewhere or it's disconnected at the throttle assembly I would think. It's also possible the cable is seized. Whether it's seized or broken you'll likely have to replace it.

Not sure this helps but I think you have to chase down the problem and isolate it. Hopefully the Scarab guys can be more specific. Good luck.

Ya thanks for the input. It looks like it’s just stuck in middle but when I put in forward and it goes backwards that’s def a concern.
I also looked at the digital dash and was telling me when I wanted to changed driving modes to see dealer it tells me could also be an electrical issue maybe.
Anyways I just pulled it out of the lake and dragged to the marina. It’s prob gonna hurt a little but I would like to be on the water and not land. Hahaha

Thanks again

If your gate is cable controlled the cable may be broken or disconnected.

I didn’t really dig to much into it. When I put the throttle in reverse and goes forward I was like wtf off to the marina at that point.
I’ll find out more this week what they say. Brutal though boat is a 2021 with less then 80 hours on it.

I had this issue once but it was because I left the power wire off the multiple positive battery terminal connections. Don't take offense if it seems I am dumbing this down. I know how I miss the simple things when I have an issue. That is another story.

Just some things to check before you make any bucket height setting adjustments. The only way I know to adjust the bucket neutral setting is with CanDoo Pro. Before you try that route there is an actuator in the engine bay that moves a sheathed cable to move the bucket. With the engine hatch open see it the actuator moves when you shift into gear (F and R). If not then check all your positive battery wires are connected and the fuses/circuit beakers are all good. If the actuator is not shifting then you have an issue with the actuator either electrically or mechanically. If the actuator is shifting then check to see if the cable end is shifting at the bucket. If actuator is shifting but the cable at the bucket is not moving then you have an internal issue with the cable. Make sure the cable end is attached to the bucket. The single screw that holds the cable to the bucket can fall off.

Well I wouldn’t be surprised because it has a ton of yellow wires to hook up to the battery. I guess the dealership will give me the bad news (price)

Thanks for input though

Let me know what it was. I’m always curious to know about failures so I can learn.
