Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
That should be it and if you are hitting that consistent you are doing pretty good full tank of gas and 6 or more people on board most of us are lucky to clear 50 mph in these boats especially a heavier 242 ls
These are FANTASTIC results, almost too good to be true actually for an un-moded 240 with a tower. I think most here would be envious, I know I am. Unless wind or current is involved.WHat RPMs are you running max?
Pictures with GPS speed and RPM are always great.
I only know because one of the features when I toggle through says "max speed". I have a wedding this weekend next weekend I will try take a video. I'm going off of my speedometer no gps here. I could care less how fast the boat goes I use the wave runners for that.
@elcue , unless I mistaken the speedos on the 240 series boats are gps based. My recorded max is just under 52. I think 54 os possible for me but not likely since I'd have to run on very little fuel with almost nothing on the boat and in perfect water conditions. Still I'm jealous of your top speed.
Nice. I'ts good to know the boat is running good. I hardly ever go full throttle so 52, 53, 54 wouldn't bother me much. The only time I ever do is when I'm solo about 6am when the bay is like glass. I usually take the waverunner out at that time I get beat up too much when it gets choppy. I'll try to get a video when I get back down see if I could hit it again.
